Since the bioethics law of August 2, 2021, Medically Assisted Procreation (MAP) or Assisted Medical Procreation (AMP), which was previously reserved for heterosexual couples, whether married or not, is now open to female couples and unmarried women.
When MAP is performed with the intervention of a third-party donor (egg or embryo donation), the prior consent of the couple or the unmarried woman must be obtained by a notary.
We inform couples or unmarried women about the legal consequences of this medical procedure in terms of the filiation of the child to be born, as well as the conditions under which the child, upon reaching adulthood, can access non-identifying information and the identity of the third-party donor.
We are committed to supporting the legal process of medically assisted procreation (consent for MAP).
